A dynamic series with organic curves
German designer Constantin Wortmann likes to play with the viewer's perception. His Cobra series for Georg Jensen has a dynamic look and is a typical example of his vision of transformation.
"I simply imagined the familiar silhouette of a conventional candlestick with organic curves." The result is a candle holder that looks as if it had partly melted, while radiating a supple vitality that also works perfectly in practical terms. Its snake-like shape and strength gave the object its name: Cobra.
"Cobra gives the impression of rising up and floating in defiance of gravity," says Wortmann. The original candle holder and the products that have since followed it radiate a snake-like liveliness. Combined with other products from Georg Jensen's Cobra series, they create countless variations.
Their almost fluid expression gives Georg Jensen's Cobra objects a dynamic presence on any surface, which, together with their functionality, makes them stylish home accessories and elegant eye-catchers.
Alongside various candle holders, the Cobra series by Georg Jensen also includes a carafe.
