Designer coat racks – versatile and practical
A coat rack makes most sense right next to the front door, as that is where you put on or take off your jacket, hat, shoes and so on. Hallways are often small and narrow, and there is rarely room for built-in wardrobes. That is why slim coat racks are the best solution for a narrow entrance area. Coat stands in particular take up very little floor space.
With the Loop Stand, HAY makes a coat rack that holds plenty of hangers in a simple, stylish way while emphasising graphic and spatial qualities.
Wall-mounted coat racks also save space and leave enough room for stylish combinations with other furniture, such as a chest of drawers. A wall-mounted coat rack has coat hooks or a rail for hangers and offers plenty of space for jackets and coats.
If you are looking for an attractive place to put down all the things you carry with you every day, the practical Find console by Tojo is a good choice. The Tojo Find console holds keys, phone, wallet, letters, newspaper, glasses, shopping lists and more, and its simple design fits naturally into any setting. Thanks to its understated colour and slim dimensions, the console fits into narrow hallways or small alcoves.
Practical coat racks
The right coat rack can transform the look of a room. As hallways are often darker than the rest of the home, it is a good idea to choose furniture in white or other light colours, which visually brighten the space. For small rooms, a model with an integrated mirror is a good option. The mirror makes the room look bigger – it seems to double the space. Coat stands that hide jackets, coats and so on from view and leave the room looking tidy are ideal. The Push coat rack by Skagerak hides your clothes behind a large mirror and keeps things visually tidy.
Questions to consider before you buy
Before buying a new coat rack, it is best to answer a few important questions that will make your decision easier. Space is key. Are there small alcoves in the hallway that you can make practical use of? Is the intended spot easily accessible and well lit? What do you want to store, and should the coat rack also hold accessories and shoes? These are questions to answer in advance. With so many options available, you are sure to find a designer coat rack that meets your needs.
