Design products from workshops for people with disabilities: the side by side project is as surprising as its products. Young designers and workshops for people with disabilities have joined forces to develop a new collection. The idea: to combine useful everyday objects with modern design. The goal: quality, design and function in harmony.
To achieve this, side by side uses carefully selected materials and tests every product. For environmental reasons, it naturally uses locally sourced wood for its products. Much of the production is done by hand in workshops for people with disabilities.
It's not only designers and people with disabilities who work side by side in this project – the workshops involved work together too. Each workshop takes on the production of one or more products, demonstrating its technical potential and craftsmanship.
