Danish furniture designer Gustav Ehrenreich created the Hoptimists in 1968. The first designs to go into production were the bouncing Birdies, followed by Bimble, Bumble and Kvak. The playful names already hint at what the Hoptimists do best: spread good cheer. And that's how they became a worldwide success in the 1970s.
After being almost forgotten for a time, the Hoptimist family has now been rediscovered by Danish designer Lotte Steffensen. She has brought the classics back to life and added special editions, so that future generations can enjoy these cheerful figures too.
