Lind DNA

Lind DNA – Danish design and recycled leather

Lind DNA is a Danish company based in Aarhus in Denmark that makes home accessories and furniture from Danish wood and recycled leather. The brand is led by its chief designer, owner and founder Preben Lind. Its core values are aesthetic functionality, Danish production and good craftsmanship, with sustainability as a key element.

The leather used by Lind DNA comes from offcuts left over from the production of bags, shoes and other items of clothing. Cut into small pieces and then bonded again with natural rubber, it is an environmentally friendly, resource-saving alternative to conventional leather. With a rubber content of 20%, Lind DNA's recycled leather is particularly hard-wearing, water and dirt repellent, and therefore easy to clean.

Danish wood and durability

The rugged Scandinavian forests – and the Danish oak in particular – are a recurring theme in Lind DNA's designs. Oak is a strong, hard wood that makes the pieces stable and durable. Durability matters greatly to Lind DNA and comes first in every design.

The same applies to the wool and other materials. They all come from Denmark and are worked with great care in local workshops. Wherever possible, each step is carried out by hand. It takes longer, but it makes every piece one of a kind, with its own story shaped by the making process. At Lind DNA, "Made in Denmark" is not a business strategy but a way of life.
