Schneid Studio lamps and accessories: designs from Germany
Since the company was founded in 2010, Schneid has developed a wide range of lights. Schneid places particular emphasis on simple shapes and natural, ecological materials. You can spot its favourite material at first glance: wood.
Schneid's first lights are defined by their organic shape and particularly warm glow, created by angled wooden slats. The Series A, designed in 2011 and including lights such as Volum and Pirum, is still made by Schneid in northern Germany. It was followed by the striking Zappy light (2012). In 2013, Schneid created "Eikon", an expandable system light consisting of a turned ash wood head and a removable, interchangeable metal shade.
Niklas Jessen and Julia Mülling are the main people behind the products, but working with young creatives around them is also very important to the two founders.
Philosophy
All Schneid products follow the same philosophy: "We want to create beautiful lights and furniture that meet high standards of ecology, locality, innovation and fairness towards our fellow human beings and the environment."
Schneid follows a Scandinavian approach, and its designs are mostly defined by simple forms, minimalism and functionality.
