Serax

A passionate family business from Antwerp in Belgium

Serax brings beauty into the home, gives interiors character and creates memorable moments at the dining table. Serax works exclusively with passionate designers from around the world and has its products made using traditional handcraft. From Vietnam to Antwerp and Portugal, skilled craftspeople make the pieces while respecting the core ideas of each design. Serax collections stand out for their form, material and style. Serax looks for beauty, for the things that make life worth living and for everything that creates a happy home – to experience, share and discover.

Serax is the joint project of SERge and AXel Van Den Bossche, two brothers who grew up among the flowerpots in their mother's business. Since its humble beginnings in a garage in 1986, the small business has grown over the past thirty years into a multinational company with more than 65 employees and its headquarters in Antwerp. Today, the company is run by Axel. Axel's wife, Marie Michielssen, is Serax's in-house designer and created the famous "Cactus vase", among other pieces. Serax is a family business with passion in its blood.

Working with well-known and lesser-known designers is in Serax's DNA. In 1990, the brand began a kind of trial collaboration with Peter Arts that attracted attention in interior design. A year later, Serax gained international fame through its collaboration with the floral artist Daniel Ost, who designed "The Flower Booth" for the French design fair Maison & Objet. The foundation was laid. Since then, Serax has entered into numerous partnerships that have led to acclaimed collections and international success.

Over the last thirty years, Serax has grown rapidly without ever losing sight of its core principles. That is why all collections are made using traditional craftsmanship. Serax travels the world with selected designer prototypes to find the right specialist craftspeople for larger-scale production. From Vietnam to Antwerp and Portugal – always in line with the designer's concept and philosophy.
