Discreet drinking glasses
The Kartio drinking glass series was designed in 1958 by Kaj Franck for the Finnish design manufacturer Iittala and impresses with its consistent simplicity: "If you want to create a perfect glass, you have to start with the hand that holds the glass. You have to ask yourself what kind of glass this hand would like to hold." So far, many attempts have been made to create the Kartio to copy Kaj Franck's drinking glasses by applying his rational geometry to new designs. All these attempts have failed because the designers did not have the experience required to design simple everyday objects. Complexity is rarely wise, while simplicity requires courage and imagination. The Kartio -range is elegant, yet durable enough for everyday use. It includes glasses, carafes and bowls, all available in several different colors as well as clear glass. All colors offered by Iittala are available.
