The Circus collection by Marcel Wanders
Circus is the name of the exclusive Alessi collection created in close collaboration with Marcel Wanders. It is a series that reinterprets everyday forms in a creative, innovative way through bold colours, resulting in products that stand out and surprise.
Circus includes a colourful selection of small bowls, kitchen canisters, all-purpose boxes, trays, charger plates, ice buckets, bottle coolers and wine coolers. Alessi and Marcel Wanders wanted to create a collection that was more than simple canisters, trays and plates. This idea gave rise to stylish objects in striking shapes and colours: circles, stripes, diamonds and discs recall costumes, garlands and the circus tent in white, black, yellow, red and gold. The spectacle and magic of the circus are reflected in the collection.
Limited collector's items
To complement the Circus collection, a limited-edition series of five circus characters was created, with 999 copies of each. Candyman, Ringleader, Ballerina, Strongman and The Jester are iconic circus figures with a truly distinctive look. Each figure also serves a purpose: The Jester is a corkscrew, Strongman becomes a nutcracker, Ballerina is a music box, Ringleader is a table bell and Candyman is, of course, a sweet dispenser.
Together, the Circus collection and the limited series create a circus world that's well worth exploring. A great deal of work has gone into every object, and each one has a story to tell. In this way, everyday items become distinctive objects that delight time and again.
