Hanging Lamp No. 4 Wall Sconce

When Light Becomes a Work of Art – Hanging Lamp N°4 by Valerie Objects

With just a few lines, a surprisingly expressive object takes shape: The Hanging Lamp N°4 wall sconce by Valerie Objects consistently continues Muller Van Severen’s characteristically minimalist design language. Instead of directing light down from the ceiling in the traditional way, the designer duo has created a slender structure that extends from the wall into the room. The idea for the Hanging Lamps collection arose from a practical need in their own home: there was no ceiling outlet above the table, so Muller Van Severen promptly developed a lamp that connects to the wall.

It is precisely the interplay between the wide-reaching steel structure and the simple lampshade that gives the N°4 its unmistakable character. Superfluous details have been deliberately omitted—what remains is a clean, almost sketch-like silhouette. As a result, the lamp becomes not only a light source but also a graphic element that echoes the room’s architecture and adds a new line to it.

An E27 socket allows for the use of a replaceable light bulb. The Hanging Lamp N°4 is designed for dry indoor spaces and is not dimmable. Available in various color options, its unusual design can either be harmoniously integrated into the existing interior or deliberately staged as a high-contrast accent.
