Hanging Lamp No. 1 Wall Sconce

Wall Sconce – Light that looks like a drawing in the room with the Hanging Lamp N°1 by Valerie Objects

As if drawn into the room with a single stroke: The Hanging Lamp N°1 wall lamp by Valerie Objects was designed by Muller Van Severen and combines a minimalist design with an extraordinary spatial effect. The idea arose from a practical problem in the design duo’s own home: there was no electrical outlet on the ceiling above the table—so Fien Muller and Hannes Van Severen simply designed a light fixture that extends into the room from the wall.

The first prototypes were presented in 2011 at Muller Van Severen’s first solo exhibition. A defining feature is the slender steel tube, which extends through the room as a graphic line and culminates in a deliberately simple lampshade. As a result, the lamp appears almost like a three-dimensional drawing and adds a striking accent without visually overwhelming the space.

Measuring 183 cm in length, 25 cm in width, and 140 cm in height, the Hanging Lamp N°1 has an impressive presence. It features an E27 socket, a switch, and a replaceable light bulb, and is intended for use in dry indoor environments.
